BIO
Born and raised in Michigan, Lynn heard the Gospel at the age of eight and accepted Jesus Christ as
her Savior. Coming from a non-Christian home, there is no logical reason why she should ever have heard about Jesus Christ. That God graciously sought her out and drew her to himself at a young age remains a source of
wonder and joy to Lynn.
Lynn has a great sense of humor and
loves to laugh (and particularly enjoys laughing at herself). She also enjoys reading, writing, singing, listening to
music, hanging around with her husband, and goofing off with friends. And did I mention how much she likes chocolate
(and guacomole)?
Lynn loves to read, study, and meditate on the Word of God. Her goals are to understand
the Word, to obey it, and to be transformed from the inside out. She also loves to discuss all things biblical and
theological with others similarly inclined.
Her passion in life is to help others
to “know and grow.” She loves to engage in ministry that enables others to know Jesus personally and then
grow in that relationship. To that end, Lynn has served as a retreat speaker, workshop leader, Bible teacher, professor,
spiritual director, devotional writer, and song writer.
Lynn has enjoyed two careers,
the first in retail management and the second in higher education (where she has served as an administrator and faculty
member). Lynn has earned two bachelor degrees, a masters degree, and a doctor of ministry degree (see the Education
& Experience tab for details).
Lynn
says that God is her redeemer (Col. 1:13-14), Lord (Acts 2:36, 16:31; Rom. 10:9), source of strength (Ps. 46:1), tower of
refuge (Pro. 18:10), comforter (2 Cor. 1:3-4), and source of hope (1 Pet.). She is, and will continue to be, eternally
grateful to God for his forgiveness (Eph. 1:7-8), kindness (Titus 3:3-7), compassion (Ps. 116:5, 145:8-9; 2 Cor. 1:3-4), and
gifts of reconciliation and eternal life through the finished work of Jesus Christ, whose perfect life and shed blood on the
cross paid the penalty for her sins (John 3:16; Rom. 3:21-26, 5:1-11; Col. 1:19-20). "Thanks be to God for his indescribable
gift!" (2 Cor. 9:15, NIV).

This past weekend, I had the privilege of sitting under the teaching
of Jim Watkins (editor for Wesleyan Publishing House and ACW Press), Dave Branon (writer for Our Daily Bread), and Bob Hostetler (author) at a local American Christian Writer’s Conference. Though each presentation was filled with useful information, it was the generous spirit of the presenters that amazed
me. Each instructor was available to the conference participants during breaks and meals. They gave encouragement as well
as information. They were gracious, kind, and selfless in their interactions with us.
As they shared parts of their journeys (including having trouble keeping current on their blogs, the
necessity of keeping a day job while feeding the freelance habit, and the difficulties of publishing in today’s market),
I was encouraged to discover I am not alone; It appears professional writers have the same challenges and suffer the same
indignities as the rest of us. I was reminded that it’s possible to remain positive despite the demise of so many magazines
and publishing houses. That God is still in charge. And that God has given each of us a gift and we are called to bless others
through a responsible use of that gift.
What do you know
that others need to know? Are you willing to share your expertise with others? Whatever your gift or specialty, it’s
likely there are others around you who could benefit from learning what you know. Find someone today and share a word of encouragement
or instruction. Spread God’s blessing to you among those you know and watch God’s Kingdom grow.

My heart aches
for the Japanese people - so much devastation and heartache in such a short time. I pray for their continued salvation,
both physical and spiritual.
On a personal level, there's nothing like an earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear crisis
in another country to make one re-evaluate one's priorities. If you ever hear me complain about anything again, please, just
tell me to shut-up.
